Something Up Her Sleeve – That’s Me!

Check out our recap of the trip we recently took to Africa. It was amazing. To read all about it, click on “Our Great African Adventure – 2010″ over there on the right. To see the photos, click on “Photos from Africa — 2010″ and you’ll be able to see the animals, people and culture.

I’d love your feedback.

MARY’S BIO

Mary Struble Deery fancies herself to be an artist. Not a sculptor or painter, but a “Word Arranger.” She’d prefer playing Scrabble with words. Individual letters, even if they’re Z’s and Q’s, worth a whopping 10 points each, don’t satisfy. Mary worked in the media side of advertising, with numbers and dollars, so never had a chance to unleash her creative side. She’s now making up for lost time. If you want to find Mary, put her keyboard coordinates into your GPS. There you’ll find her fingers flying all over.

A trip down Memory Lane and fortunately, it wasn’t too long ago! THE best group we’ve ever been with!

So glad to have found your website! Here in Fayetteville, we have a group named “Writer’s Ink”. What was your first serious poetic endeavor? Mine was “The History Tree”, 1994. May I share the first stanza: “How many see a tree and see history. Era’s gone by captured in each ring; wild flowers encamped below where once soldiers lie shivering in the snow. Minds clearing, each whispers his last goodbye.”

Do you also Haiku? Thank you for your kind attention. My best,
    Carol S. Kannan

Thank you for your kind words. I looked at your blog. What language is it? I’ll bet I could use translation software to read it. I’m one of the many Americans who only dabbled in French or Spanish, so really don’t have a broad understanding of other languages. But I really do appreciate other cultures, so would love to read a translation of your blog.
